Documentary & Book

In 2012, Dr. Dardashti created a documentary about the Pop Culture Phenomena of the Twilight books and movies. The cross generational interest in the saga intrigued her; she wanted to identify why it was so popular among grandparents and grandchildren alike.

The film became an internationally publicized psychological documentary which explores the phenomenon through some laughter and definitely some tears. It provides insightful analyses from relationship experts and first hand experience into the hearts of several women who reveal why they were so touched by the saga. It ends with concrete suggestions of how to increase and sustain connection in long term relationships

Following her documentary, Dr. D had a series of inquiries about the psychology behind the interest in Twilight, in addition to the 50 Shades of Grey series. In this insightful coffee table book, she discusses various stages in a woman’s life and how to deal with the search for meaning (individually and within relationships) during these stages. Written more like an advice column, this is a fun yet informative read that can help people who find themselves unfulfilled in all sorts of relationships, with tools to feel more passion in their lives.

Specifically the book delves into

  • the classic question: is it “me”? Or is it “us”?
  • how to create more excitement in a relationship
  • how to feel more present and engaged in life
  • how to minimize feelings of daily monotony and increase novelty
  • how to balance the need for satisfaction from others, with that from ourselves
  • ways to feel more alive, inspired, and connected with yourself
